The Writers' Loft

Fan Corner

Do you love books? Are you a fan of a Lofter or the Writers' Loft? Do you want to book an author or illustrator visit? Are you looking for media kits or sell sheets for Writers' Loft Press books?

You're in the right place!

Support is so important to authors and illustrators!

The Writers' Loft supports over 1,000 authors and illustrators on their journey. It takes a village, and you're a part of that! Take a look at how YOU can help!

It Just Takes One Click ...

Supporting authors and illustrators isn't hard. Whether you're the spouse of a creative and just being super patient, or a librarian who wants to stock local books, or just someone who love to read, check out all the ways you can change the life of an author or illustrator!

And ... maybe you have a story inside you and you belong at the Loft too!

Three things to do to support your author/illustrator friend or family member:

  1. Tell a Friend

Social proof is the number one way thing that moves the needle on books sales. A friend tells you about a book they absolutely can't put down? You're going to pick it up. So spread the word in person and on social media platforms. You don't even have to say, "Buy this book." Just say you love it. Other people will want to check it out! Your author or illustrator friend/family member will thank you!

  2. Leave a Review

Reviews are social proof as well. Most people check out the reviews on Amazon or GoodReads before they decide what to buy. So go ahead and leave an honest review on those sites. Having no reviews will kill a book faster than anything else. So go ahead, and review away! It's free and the most important thing you can do to support an author or illustrator.

  3. Be Patient

If you're the loved one of an author or illustrator, let them take the lead when they want to talk about the creative or book production process. For traditional authors/illustrators, the process can take years and be fraught with rejection and difficulty. For indie authors/illustrators, the learning curve can be steep. Don't ask all the time how the process is going; just listen and support. Let them initiate the conversations!
